Here are eight would you rather questions where people's answers split hard. There's no right answer. But when you hear why someone picked their side, you learn a little about them.
1. You only get one. Which?
AMeet your soulmate
BFind your dream job (pays well, fun, and you are great at it)

I'd take the dream job. Work is half your waking day. If it pays well, it's fun, and you're good at it, that's half your life you actually enjoy.
My friend picked the soulmate in about one second, though. Her point was that even the best job means nothing if nobody's there to eat dinner with after. I didn't have a comeback.
2. You just blew something important. What do you want from people?
AComfort and encouragement
BHonest feedback

Comfort on the day it happens. Feedback the next day.
When someone says "here's where it went wrong" that same day, even if they're right, it just doesn't land.
3. How do you want your passport photo to turn out?
AWorse than you look in real life
BSo edited nobody recognizes you

B. That photo follows you around on documents for years, so I'd rather it be a good one.
I'd just have to accept airport staff looking back and forth between me and the photo a few too many times.
4. Which friend do you want on a trip?
AFunny, but kind of a jerk
BReally nice, but boring

For a weekend, the funny one. For a week, the nice one.
A short trip should be all laughs. On a long one, the little jerk comments start piling up. How long was the trip you were picturing?
5. Which could you put up with?
ARunning the heater in summer
BRunning the AC in winter

AC in winter. If you're cold, you can grab a blanket. With the heater on in summer, there's nothing left to take off.
6. Which would you rather have as a pet?
AA dog with a cat personality
BA cat with a dog personality

The cat that acts like a dog. No walks, and it still runs to the door when you come home? I didn't even have to think.
7. Same price. Where would you live?
AA house with a yard in the countryside
BA 170-square-foot studio in the city

Right now, the city studio. My friends, my job, everything I do is in the city.
Ask me again in ten years and I'll probably take the yard. If you picked the countryside right away, I'd love to know why.
8. You can only take one trip this year. Which?
AA weekend away with your partner
BA luxury cruise with your friends

The cruise. A weekend away can happen any time. A luxury cruise might happen once in my life.
Whether I'd say that out loud in front of my partner is another question.
Which of the eight took you the longest to answer? For me it was number 1. Infinite Balance gets a new would you rather theme like this every week. Grab it here.
